WARREN, NJ — Watchung Hill Regional High School is ranked among the top public high schools in New Jersey, according to Niche’s 2023 Best Schools and Districts rankings.

Watchung Hill Regional High School ranked 43rd out of 425 for best public high schools in New Jersey and 640 out of 20,032 in America.

Locally, Watchung Hills ranks as the 4th best high school in Somerset County. The school has 1,909 students and a 12:1 student-teacher ratio, according to Niche.com.

Watchung Hills serves students in Warren, Watchung, and Green Brook in Somerset County and Long Hill in Morris County.

Niche said its rankings differ from others that rely almost exclusively on test scores and academic performance in that it also includes input from students, alumni and parents, as well as quantitative data from sources such as the U.S. Department of Education to evaluate teachers, resources and facilities. Niche incorporated nearly 2.5 million school reviews from students, parents and teachers — the largest online collection of school reviews, according to the platform.
